At Mahisoft, we are always looking for new talent to join our team; we are a regional software solutions leader working with clients in North America. Although our focus is on hiring developers based in Spanish-speaking Latin America, we recently expanded our searches to Brazil; this opened the doors to a culture that has been easily integrated into the company’s operations.

What are we searching for?

“We’re not looking for developers who are experts in any specific language,” explains Emily Moreau, HR Manager for Latin America. Mahisoft is looking for something more: people willing to learn and teach, who also feel comfortable under the philosophy of Radical Truth/Radical Transparency and who have the personal and professional maturity to practice Responsible Freedom. “In our team, the most important thing is the ability to learn and impart knowledge. We all learn something in the company and, at some point, we have to teach. So I think that’s the most important thing when looking for people to join our team”, highlights Moreau.

How do I work at Mahisoft?

Mahisoft seeks talent from various talent pools, and our job opportunities are also available on our LinkedIn profile. Once the resume of a professional compatible with the open searches is received, the human resources department schedules an introductory interview to discuss experiences and aspirations. From there, a date is set for a technical interview with two of our senior engineers and team leaders, asking for specific tasks required for the position.

The process culminates with an interview with the company’s CEO, which, if successful, materializes in a job offer. “Our process has always been online, so not much has changed because of the pandemic,” Moreau explains. “What is new is that, recently, we have opened our searches to Brazil, which has made us discover new talents in a world completely different from the one in which we operated. And to facilitate their integration, we have added to our English classes within the company the option of taking Portuguese classes, and thus be able to communicate fluently within our teams”.

Can I have a career at Mahisoft?

Absolutely. Based on open communication and responsible freedom, the company’s philosophy can be intimidating at first, but it is the foundation of our success. The easy integration brings new opportunities within the company, such as the case of Alexandra Perdomo, who joined Mahisoft in 2014 when there was no Android development team yet. “I wanted to code on Android, but we didn’t have a team. It eventually formed, and I asked to join. And I did it”. Perdomo then had the opportunity to be part of the team that set up Mahisoft’s first office in Costa Rica.

This is also the case of Germán Robayo, who entered an internship at Mahisoft and today holds the position of Junior Software Developer. “My experience here has been one of growing, as a person and as a professional. I hope I can stay here many years because I like the way we solve problems for our clients, our philosophy towards our work.”
