There are several articles on the internet about nearshoring and its advantages, usually in the form of top ten lists: teams are closer, they typically speak the same language, and it is cost-efficient. But do they reflect the process within our companies?

We have our own top five list based on our over eight years of experience serving companies in the US. So, what makes nearshore teams better to execute your project?

  • We speak the same language: Language is more than spoken or written words; it is the subtle things you can pick up with a hand gesture or enunciation. Having cultural proximity within the development team and with the client is critical to translate their ideas into solutions. That reflects in a smooth execution while being more time-efficient.
  • We are close (enough): Waiting twelve hours to get a response from your development team in Asia or EE? No need. Geographical proximity means better use of time; your development team is working when you are, attending the same meetings with your managers, and providing quick responses to your requests.
  • We are more flexible: The possibility of developing with a nearshore team also gives your business a more flexible structure to respond to demand changes quickly. All this will allow our clients to be more competitive than to other companies with more rigid structures. Also, the cost reduction that nearshore offers opens the possibility of lowering prices or improving the bottom line.
  • We can hire the best talent: Unlike previous generations, the up-and-coming talent pool feels more and more comfortable working in remote environments. Having the flexibility to work from home while being in constant communication with the team is one lesson the COVID-19 pandemic is giving to us all. Fortunately, we learned it beforehand, and we can use it to lure the best resources to work in our nearshore projects.
  • We can make you save money (twice): Most of the companies that outsource intend to save costs. The main advantage of nearshore is that it reduces fixed costs. With this strategy, you will have a focused team and spend less time and resources on staff management, thus representing a double saving.

Creating complex and modern software solutions requires a wide range of skills and capabilities. A nearshore partner enables companies to fill this critical gap by providing professionals with specific skills and experience when they need them for a project. Our strategies are aimed to increase productivity, reduce costs, minimize defects, support more, deliver results faster, or any other combination that benefits our clients in a long-term and highly efficient relationship.
