Responsibilities
Migrate data from MySQL (evaluating the Enterprise option if necessary) to Vertica, ensuring integrity and performance.
Build and maintain a Data Warehouse in Vertica, applying star schemas for efficient data organization.
Develop ELT pipelines for data extraction, loading, and transformation, processing data from Kafka and other sources.
Create reports and dashboards using compatible reporting tools or develop SQL queries for Vertica consumers.
Use DBT for the development and management of SQL data transformations and Airflow as an ETL/ELT workflow orchestrator.
Collaborate with teams to ensure data availability and quality for analysis and reporting.
Work extensively with SQL, optimizing queries and models for a scalable warehouse.
Implement and test data models in analytical databases.
Requirements
Knowledge of MySQL and Vertica databases; hands-on experience with advanced SQL.
Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling (star schema).
Experience handling data flows from Kafka to analytical systems.
Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
Knowledge of using DBT for data transformation and documentation.
Ability to handle large volumes of data and optimize ETL/ELT processes.
Knowledge of scripting for automation (Python/SQL).
Advanced English.
